Benefits of this 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

  • Classical Lineage with Modern Innovations

Our program uniquely combines classical yoga lineage with lifestyle interventions designed for the modern householder – Yoga for work, relationships, nutrition and health. Students in the program learn means of guiding their clients through Self-realization practices to support their individual wellness.

  • Personal Growth & Professional Development

Students in this training start mastery of the techniques they are learning in their personal lives. They are their own case studies and learn the process through exploring it in an embodied and experiential way. Practicum exercises explore both the giving and receiving aspects of Yoga Therapy, and students learn by playing both the role of teacher, therapist and client.

  • Expand Your Skillset & Gain Yoga Lifestyle Coaching Skills

Using powerful yoga assessments, tools and interventions. Dive deep into the applications of yoga philosophy and psychology. Learn how to teach to the individual and gain insight into yoga poses to create meaningful and innovative practice experiences.

  • Embodied Anatomy, Physiology & Applied Practices

Learn anatomy and physiology from an embodied place. Experience a variety of practices designed to create positive change in the different systems of the body. Apply musculoskeletal anatomy to yoga poses, learn how to see and cue movement from a variety of perspectives. Explore how to prevent injuries in yoga, as well as how to use yoga to prevent injuries in other areas of life. Create a database of new and exciting movement experiences that will innovate your classes and expand your ability to teach private sessions, skillfully addressing individual client needs.

  • Interactive Learning & Applied Skills

We design intentional experiential in class exercises that you will explore in small group with your peers. It is an environment where you can authentically express and explore different aspects of your self through a variety of inquiry-based exercises. This turns the classroom in to more of a laboratory where we explore the varied understandings of consciousness and the human experience. So much good learning happens in this kind of interactive environment, and students often express how transformative the applied exercises are.

  • Individual Mentorship

You are assigned an individual mentor, with whom you will connect remotely (via phone, email and skype) for individualized attention throughout the course of the program. Mentor sessions are designed to support your learning needs and applied skill development. CYT Mentors are also teachers in the program, and students develop a consistent relationship with their teachers and mentors over the duration of the training.

Upon graduation of Comprehensive Yoga Therapy Level I, students are eligible to go on to pursue Levels 2 & 3 of the program*. Graduates of the 820 Hour program will be eligible to register as a certified yoga therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists.
